Free or unutilized resources are a value-booster. Stories about chicken feet being transferred from Brazil (slaughter waste) to China (valuable source of protein), using the water hyacinth (invasive weed) for furniture industry or about renting out your guest couch via internet platform - all have one message in common: They are about being „ALERT“ and about actively searching for business potential to be revealed. Even if you look at successfully running businesses there are so many unutilized resources we can activate and earn that extra dollar with: e.g. customer complaints, ideas by employees or clients, underutilized machines, funds from national programmes, the internet and many more to be discovered. This entrepreneurial spirit and creativity is the core competency for building future businesses.
The theory behind it: Economist Israel Kirzner states that an entrepreneur is a business person who develops a proactive „ALERTNESS“ for unutilized resources and gratuitous potential as his or her core competency. This contributes to economical balance because underutilized factors of production are being creatively combined and thereby fully engaged.
But let’s be realistic - in the „German Mittelstand“ it is not always indicated to create a whole new business model. Though it is absolutely wise to engage free or underutilized resources in a smart and creative way to push your cash flow. It is more about the attitude of being „ALERT“ and looking at ones organization and market closely.
On March 23rd we will turn the foyer of the Rhein Neckar Theatre in Mannheim (“Seilwolff” Area) to a popup event: RPR1 moringshow anchorman Andreas Kunze, entrepreneur and business punk Dr. Michael Müller (rollomeister.de) and business development expert Yasmin Schütte will present this topic to you as an inspiring impulse via popup. We welcome entrepreneurs and business executives to pick up some new thoughts on how to look at resources and a recipe for finding business potential within existing structures around them. Further we recommend the dialogue and networking aspect on executive level followed by a good portion of mental fuel.
