  • Intellectual property remains on the move. At a time when technical progress is progress is constantly accelerating, industrial property protection is becoming increasingly important. In 2021, over 58,500 patents were registered in Germany.New applications remain at a high level and underline the importance of Germany as a location for innovation. Another important topic is the commercial exploitation of research results. On the one hand, the design of cooperation and license agreements and, on the other hand, the evaluation of previous findings for the determination of standard market remuneration in the event of out-licensing or the sale of know-how play a major role here. The majority of engineers, natural scientists and business economists have generally completed their university education without having come into contact with important topics such as intellectual property rights. This gap is to be closed in through the qualification seminar "Intellectual Property Rights". The seminar covers various aspects of intellectual property law, including patent law, utility model law, trademark law, design law, copyright law and employee invention law. It explains what is involved in each area, what rights and protection options they offer and how to obtain them. The commercial exploitation of research results through licensing, the sale of intellectual property and spin-offs will also be discussed. The aim is to provide students from all faculties with a basic knowledge of these legal aspects and to illustrate the importance of intellectual property rights and the commercialization of inventions. The lecturer Murat Gisi, patent attorney, will lead the five-hour course. The seminar is aimed at all students, professors, staff and external participantsThe event takes place in cooperation with MARS and is part of the TransforMA projectThe event will be held in German
