We are thrilled to invite you to our first Startup Lounge of this semester! Our distinguished guest for this event is Panosome, a pioneering biotech startup based in Heidelberg.
This Startup Lounge is a collaborative effort between MCEI; MARS and BioRN. BioRN is a science and industry innovation cluster that thrives on the constant interaction between academia, industry, and government to foster the production, transfer, and application of knowledge in the Life Sciences. Founded in 1996, BioRN uniquely brings together all the key innovation stakeholders in the Life Sciences around Heidelberg, situated at the junction of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Hesse, interconnected by the Rhein, Main, and Neckar rivers.
BioRN is also one of the main supporters of Panosome!
Panosome is a startup focused on revolutionizing the field of immunotherapy using its novel, proprietary VAST technology platform. This platform enables the generation of antibodies that target challenging disease markers, including small molecules, peptides, and proteins. Panosome's high on-target specificity ensures that its antibodies limit side effects, making treatments safer and more effective.
The company's development pipeline is centered on addressing critical cancer indications with high unmet medical needs. Panosome is advancing the creation of monoclonal antibodies against tumor-specific carbohydrates, such as MUC1, to target pancreatic cancer, as well as T cell receptor-like antibodies aimed at intracellular cancer antigens. They are also applying their innovative approach to target mutations associated with midline glioma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer that primarily affects children.
Afterwards, the Heidelberg Biotech Simulator will also quickly present themselves! The simulator is a membership-only network that is designed to connect science and business students to both the AI & biotech industry and start-ups. They also offer our Master, PhD and Post-doc members the possibility to solve practical questions within start-ups, allowing you to experience what it is like to be a founder and acquire industry relevant skills. During this process you will receive feedback from venture capital and industry expert mentors. They offer plenty of events, workshops, CEO talks and socials. Join the network! https://linktr.ee/biotechsimulator
