In an interesting and highly competitive final round the team from PulseShift convinced the jury with their idea and thereby won the MCEI Seed Award 2017. The award is linked to a price money of 10,000 € and is intended to help the startup grow.
The first Startup Lounge in 2017 kicked-off with a special event – the final round of the MCEI Seed Award. The event attracted a lot of people and the Café L3 was crowded with an audience of over 100 Startup enthusiasts from all over the Rhein-Neckar area. The crowd was excited to witness the finalist's high profile pitches.
PulseShift was the first pitch of the evening. Their team consists of five SAP-Alumni who aim at revolutionizing the change process in companies with their idea. Only one third of the change management processes initiated in companies are successful. With the help of specialized questionnaires PulseShift can monitor the progress in a detailed way and is able to provide the possibility to increase the chances of succeeding by involving the workers into the process. The Startup has already two potential customers which are very interested in the solutions provided. The first roll-out will happen in Q2 in 2017.
The next candidate, Ku.bus is an online news portal which bundles articles from different newspapers, filters them to your personal needs, adds own articles and then provides them as a newsletter, based on your individual interests and needs, directly to the customer. The activities of Ku.bus are focused on local business news and they have been able to win a broad partner network within the region. They are in the process now to extend their business to other regions in Germany.
Finally, the team of YourHenry delivered their idea to the jury and the crowd. They offer a handy service for many full-time employees. You can book “your Henry” online and he will come to your house and take care of all your unwanted duties at home like getting your clothes in the laundry, taking out the trash, shopping for groceries, and many more. The service aims at increasing the leisure team of a full-time employee or of anyone who can imagine better things to do in their leisure time than bringing your clothes in the laundry or going shopping for groceries.
In the end the jury decided to declare PulseShift as the winner of the award. The second place went to the team of YourHenry followed by Ku.bus in third place. The winner is entitled to the price money of 10,000 € to advance their business, which is kindly provided by the Heinrich Vetter Foundation. With the help of the price money PulseShift will be able to drive the growth of their promising startup.
We would like to thank all the amazing startups applying for the MCEI Seed Award 2017. Although only one startup was able to win the prize money all applicants are encouraged to use the MCEI support activities to boost their idea. A special thanks goes to the jury for their effort and professional judgement of the ideas. Last but not least thanks to the Café L3 for hosting another great event and making the time most enjoyable for our guests.
