With his project, Robert helped Miamed to ramp up a product management process for their mobile applications.
Miamed has revolutionized the exam preparation for German and German-speaking students. Their platform currently has over 95% market share among medical students preparing for their exams by using electronic learning aids. Their basic product, AMBOSS Online, is a learning platform for medical students covering the whole course of studies. Most recently the platform has been extended with search-centric mode containing drug dosing and medical treatment information. This extension has allowed Miamed to enter the customer group of doctors and clinical staff.
With an increasing number of users and company size, however, it is necessary to provide a procedural framework in which new products will be incepted, developed and managed throughout their lifecycle. Such a straegic process & framework needs to be well-documented and repeatable for future products. At the same time, it needs to be flexible enough to account for the rapidly changing digital environment Miamed is operating in. It was decided to implement such a product management process along with the next product considered to be added to Miamed's portfolio.
Robert conceptualized and selected a framework for new product implementation on the basis of a profund due diligence including a need analysis. He then selected and further adapted the framework and led the first product through the structured implementation process. The academic part of Robert's thesis centered on growth hacking - a hype or a new paradigm?
Following his Inside the Venture project, Robert was hired fulltime by Miamed and the project really helped the startup advance.
