Our society is increasingly seeing that business startups are an important catalyzer of economic growth and prosperity. But how is the startup scene at Ludwigshafen developing, and what can be done at the local political level to create good frame conditions for startups and self-employed? These questions will be discussed at a panel discussion organized by the Junge Union Ludwigshafen, which will feature guests from the fields of business , science and politics:

In a nation-wide contest between local ENACTUS groups, the Mannheim group won the first prize by convincing the jury with their great social entrepreneurship projects. We congratulate them very much for this great success and hope that they will continue to change the world with such creative and ambitious projects in the future!
What is ENACTUS?
ENACTUS is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to shape a better, more sustainable world. With over 57,000 members at 1600 universities worldwide, it is one of the largest international student organizations. They do that by starting social entrepreneuship projects which empower socially disadvanged people or make some aspects of our life more ecologically soustainable. The Mannheim Innovation Forum is an event series that allows science and economy to get into a conversation and form connections. Its hosts are the MAFINEX e.V. and the department for economic promotion at the city of Mannheim.
The next keynote with the title "Business model innovation" will be held on the 10th of July 2014, 5.30 pm, at the MAFINEX-Technologiezentrum. The speaker will be the Mannheim Alumni Prof. Dr. Claus W. Gerberich, who has worked in the industrial sector for over 25 years and occupied several positions as member of the management board at ADIDAS, Schöller, Mövenpick and STAFF/Zumtobel. The talk will be followed by a get-together with snacks.
