Register now free of charge for the “4C Accelerator Tübingen” of the Foundation for Medical Innovation, the Medical Innovations GmbH and the University of Tübingen! This qualification program for potential founders and startups is funded by the campaign “Start-up BW” of the Ministry of Economics Baden-Württemberg. Included in the program is the development of the business model until the point of “investor readiness”. A focus lies on the specific needs of startups from the fields of life science and health care. Therefor an intensive individual monitoring is provided from medical experts, concerning the 4 Cs:
• C1-Commercialization: planning of turnover in the healthcare-sector (i.a. refunding costs from the health insurances)
• C2-Certification: Certifying product and company
• C3-Clinical Studies: Proofing evidence of the product
• C4-Copyright: Using data/-copyright strategically
Who can apply?
Eligible are all students, professionals, founding teams and innovators, including clinicians, nurses, lab technicians, scientists who want to translate their innovative ideas into health solutions of the following domains:
• Medical Devices (gadgets, machines, instruments, implants)
• Therapeutics (drugs, active ingredients)
• Diagnostics (laboratory tests or procedures)
• Digital Health (data, analytics, software, monitoring
EHI Foundation and GS1 Germany have currently started the application circle for the Wissenschaftspreis 2022. The prize is open for applications from German speaking universities with a significant potential for trade and consume goods industry. The winner will be benefitting from a wide netwirk of support and marketing worth 50.000 euro alltogether.

This Wednesday there is another MARCIE talk coming up: The speaker will be Felix Bohr, historian and journalist at the German weekly DER SPIEGEL. The talk will be about how to start a career in journalism, the routine in the newsroom and challenges for freelance journalists. The upcoming second talk is organized in cooperation with Artes Liberales e.V. and embedded in a speakers series called "Where do I go?". It is about bringing alumni on stage to tell the story of their professional career after having finished uni.
The Mannhein Research Group in Culture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (MARCIE) is an interdisciplinary research group of the University of Mannheim. It is about bringing together competences in the fields of research and culture. In doing so there are several offers for stakeholders with a background in art and culture to learn about entrepreneurial skills.
In MARCIE talks employees from the cultural sector, other stakeholders and political or institutional players discuss current challenges and needs of the local, federal and European cultural and creative industry.
The Digital Autonomy Award promotes innovative, digital solutions that contribute to a reflected and self-determined handling of data, devices and applications. The price is announced by the Digital Autonomy Hub in cooperation with iRights Lab, Wikimedia Germany, the Foundation Digital Chances and the Foundation New Responsibility. Its main objective is to create a broader audience for new ideas.
Who can participate?
Invited to apply is everybody interested – no matter if already a venture, iniative or just as individual. A special focus lies on young, innovative founders.

What is the rewarded?
Beside publicity and the award itself free travel and participation on two important fairs in the data scene is part of the price: the INFORMATIK2022 conference in Hamburg and the Mensch und Computer 2022 in Darmstadt.

Uni Mannheim is proud to be partner university of the federal project „Makers of Tommorrow“. The project is an initiative of the chancelor of Germany, Dr. Angela Merkel, and about to encourage students to found their own venture.
On November 1st the program has started. It is open to all interested students. The programm consists of 10 modular units of 10 founding stories of promiment founders from Germany and the Sillicon Valley. Beside exclusive insights there are little tasks to apply the new knowledge. A launch event is planed on November 11th at 4 pm, streamed from Leuphana University in Lüneburg.
The course is open to students of all backgrounds, no matter which subject or state of studies. Those who have completed all units will gain not only a certificate but also get access to the online community of MoT Alumni. Learn more about the entire programm on www.makers-of-tomorrow.de
