Uni Mannheim Alumni Christina and Liesa founded Glowbarre Glowbarre

Christina Hillebrand and Liesa Lier are both Uni Mannheim Alumni. While Christina did her Bachelor and Master in Business Adminstration in Mannheim, Liesa went to Switzerland for her Master. After returning and working as strategy consultants for some years, the two of them founded GlowBarre. GlowBarre offers Barre classes. Barre fitness is a hybrid workout class - combining ballet-inspired moves with elements of Pilates, dance, yoga and strength training. Most classes incorporate a ballet barre and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. As a result, Barre tones and transforms the whole body, creating ballerina-like lean muscles.

Christina discovered Barre during a holiday on Bali and was enthusiastic at once. Due to its high effectiveness, the trend sport is already widely spread in Hollywood and other spots, also used by many Victoria Secret models. Back in Germany Christina told her friend Liesa and it didn´t take her too much effort to persuade her to set up their own business – GlowBarre was born.

In January of this year they opened their first studio in the hip „Belgium“ district of Cologne that is home to a lot of bars, pubs and galleries. If things continue the way they do, Christina and Liesa plan to expand to other parts of town or Germany. Nevertheless, right now their are pretty busy with their first steps as entrepreneurs and their ongoing consulting jobs. Having also bunch of other teachers Christina and Liesa still try to give as many courses as they can on their own. That allows them to build up close customer relations and get useful insights.

And that is not all: Beside all those tasks, Christina is still a mentor for Absolventum at Uni Mannheim.
