When it comes to legal aspects, Startups will often experience Corporate Employment and IP Law as highly relevant when setting up their business. Given this background, MCEI offers a legal workshop for current and future entrepreneurs and startups. The workshop will be held with the support of Melchers lawyers.
As content an overview of crucial questions entrepreneurs and founders should be aware of will be provided. The workshop is be held by Dr. Victoria Berger (Corporate Law), Dominik Gallini (Employment Law) and Dr. Sebastian Petrack (IP), three German attorneys working for MELCHERS. MELCHERS is a full-service law firm with offices in Heidelberg, Frankfurt, Mannheim and Berlin providing assistance to national and international clients on all aspects relevant to their business. Part of this practice is advising Startups in their special environment.Dr. Victoria Berger works in Corporate Law and will provide details on how to incorporate a company, how to choose the best legal form for each purpose and what to consider in terms of liability as a founder and Managing Director.Dominik Gallini has a wide experience in all questions of Employment Law and will give an overview of what to consider as a founder, especially in terms of hiring employees and/or freelancers, incentives, social security and employee data protection.Dr. Sebastian Petrack is mainly active in the field of IP as well as IT law. He will give a brief overview of which strategic considerations Startups should regularly make with regard to IP rights such as trademarks, designs, patents and copyrights, as well as which behaviours in online or offline business transactions are legally problematic.Workshop participants are welcome to submit their questions or make suggestions for topics to discuss ahead of the workshop. These questions and topics will serve as an orientation to organize the workshop and the lawyers of MELCHERS will do their best to answer all of them.Please note that the event will be held in German.
