On November 26 starting at 7 pm Alexander Gossman, founder of OPAL, will talk about their founder story and the IKT Innovativ startup competition at Dezernat 16.  After the pitches the Entrepreneurship Club meets Zünder für Gründer event will connect the startup scenes from Mannheim and Heidelberg to have a drink, some BBQ and exchange their ideas.

"Zünder für Gründer" is Heidelbergs own startup networking event where founders, investors and startup enthusiasts come together to make new connections and enjoy themselves.

On October 1 starting at 5 pm the Regionalcup Rhein-Neckar of the Elevator Pitch BW will take place at the Dezernat 16.
Ten young entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas to a jury in 3 minutes. Only one team will receive the ticket to the grand finals in spring 2016 in Stuttgart.

After the pitches the Entrepreneurship Club meets Zünder für Gründer event will connect the startup scenes from Mannheim and Heidelberg to have a drink, some food and exchange their ideas.

HIP Camp - The other conference

Many people have an idea or want to add value to our society. Oftentimes this potential remains untouched - there is not the right time, the right place to start or simply too much to do. This is where the HIP Camp takes off from.

HIP stands for „Happy Ideas and Projects“. It is a combination of talks, seminars and workshops as well as (outdoor) activities to get your spirits going. HIP does not take place in seminar rooms in the city, but in the middle of nature.

Talks

15-20’ talks will be held on social entrepreneurship experiences, ideas and questions that are raised in the process.

Open Space

Free presentation of ideas, questions and projects on which the participants will work and seek active support - be it with new ideas or by people strengthening their team. All these topics will be worked on in small groups and then the results will be presented to all participants as well as a jury. The best ideas will be rewarded.

The fees are kept as low as possible to enable as many participants from different backgrounds as possible.

„Die beste Idee überhaupt war zum Startup Weekend zu gehen“ 70 Gründungsinteressierte aus der Region trafen sich am Wochenende im Technologiepark Heidelberg, um aus Ideen Geschäftsmodelle zu entwickeln. Unterstützt von 30 Mentoren arbeiteten sie in verschiedenen Teams an neuen Produkten, Dienstleistungen und sozialen Projekten. Teilnehmer und Mentoren zeigen sich begeistert, die Ausrichter kündigen die Wiederholung der ausverkauften Veranstaltung für November 2015 an.

„Ich bin am Freitag mit einer Idee gekommen und verlasse das Startup Weekend fast mit einem fertigen Unternehmen“, beschreibt Andreas Widmann seine Eindrücke am Sonntagabend. Er möchte LKWs mit speziellen Bildschirmen ausstatten. Darauf soll GPS-gesteuert und ortsabhängig Werbung angezeigt werden, zum Beispiel für aktuelle Veranstaltungen oder Unternehmen in der Umgebung. Die Jury aus Wirtschaft und Politik zeigte sich beeindruckt und verlieh Widmann und seinem Team am Sonntagabend den ersten Platz.

Davor lagen zwei Tage harte Arbeit. Zunächst musste sich Widmann mit seinem Vorhaben „Roadvertiser“ gegen 26 andere Ideen durchsetzen und aus der Teilnehmerschaft ein geeignetes Team rekrutieren. Anschließend ging es an die Entwicklung eines Geschäftsmodells. Dabei standen den Teams verschiedene Wirtschaftsexperten, Rechtsanwälte und erfahrene Unternehmer zur Seite. „Die Mentoren haben uns das ganze Wochenende über sehr konstruktives aber auch kritisches Feedback gegeben. Dadurch haben wir viel mehr erreicht als ich für möglich gehalten habe.“

Auch andere Teams wussten zu überzeugen. So ging der zweite Platz an das Projekt „Djini“, ein Service, bei dem ein „Geist“ als Unterstützer vor Ort des Beschenkten auf Bestellung persönliche und kreative Grüße und Überraschungen überbringt. Erste Aufträge wurden bereits am Sonntag ausgeführt, der Muttertag bot den idealen Rahmen um das Geschäftsmodell zu erproben. Der dritte Platz ging an das Team „Simple Styler“, eine Haarbürste die beim Bürsten ein Hitzeschutzöl verteilt. Menschen, die regelmäßige ein Glätteisen verwenden, könnten damit viel Zeit sparen. Auch medizinische Anwendungen sind denkbar.

„Ich bin beeindruckt von den Ideen und der Qualität der Präsentationen. Außerdem herrscht hier einfach ein toller Spirit“, fasst Doris Mayer ihre Erfahrungen vom Wochenende zusammen. Auch sie nutzte das Startup Weekend, um eine bestehende Idee ins Rollen zu bringen. Mit dem Projekt „Each1Teach1“ möchte sie Flüchtlinge und Bevölkerung näher zusammenbringen. Eine Plattform für Workshops bei denen jeder von jedem lernen kann, soll hierzu die Grundlage schaffen. Die Jury honorierte die Ergebnisse mit einem spontan ins Leben gerufenen Sonderpreis für soziales Unternehmertum.
Insgesamt haben zwölf Teams am Sonntagabend ihre Arbeit präsentiert und die Ergebnisse sind beachtlich. Prototypen, Websites und erstes Kundenfeedback lassen staunen, wie viel ein engagiertes Team in wenigen Stunden leisten kann. „Ich bin sehr begeistert von der Dynamik, die an diesem Wochenende hier entstanden ist“, erklärt André Domin, Geschäftsführer der Technologiepark Heidelberg GmbH und Vorstand des Heidelberg Startup Partners e.V., der Gastgeber der Veranstaltung war. Die Teilnehmer haben eindrucksvoll bewiesen, dass Heidelberg eine lebendige Stadt voller engagierter, junger Menschen ist, die ihr Leben in die Hand nehmen und aktiv Lösungen erarbeiten wollen! Wir haben von allen Beteiligten durchweg positives Feedback für die Veranstaltung erhalten.“

Andreas Widmann stimmt ein: „Die beste Idee überhaupt war zum Startup Weekend zu gehen“. Als Gewinner des Wochenendes wird es seine Aufgabe sein, die nächste Veranstaltung mit einem Erfahrungsbericht zu eröffnen. Diese ist bereits für den 13. bis 15. November 2015 angekündigt.
Organisiert wurde das dreitägige Event vom Heidelberg Startup Partners e.V., dem MAFINEX Gründerverbund Entrepreneur Rhein-Neckar e.V. und dem IT Forum Rhein-Neckar e.V.. Weitere Partner sind die Stadt Heidelberg, das Land Rheinland-Pfalz, die Wirtschaftsinitiative bw:con sowie die Netzwerkorganisation MTKON Rheinland-Pfalz. Veranstalter des ersten Startup Weekend Rhein-Neckar war die Technologiepark Heidelberg GmbH. Ermöglicht wurde das Startup Weekend Rhein-Neckar durch das Sponsoring der EY Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft und der TWL (Technische Werke Ludwigshafen AG). Die Radiosender bigFM und RPR1 fungierten als Medienpartner. Weitere Unternehmen unterstützen die Veranstaltung durch Sachsponsoring.

Das Startup Weekend findet zukünftig an verschiedenen Orten in der Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar statt. Nächster Ort ist das MAFINEX Gründungszentrum in Mannheim. Es reiht sich in die weltweite Startup Weekend-Initiative ein, die 2008 im US-amerikanischen Boulder gegründet wurde. Von Auckland über Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro und San Francisco bis Bagdad nahmen in den letzten Jahren mehr als 100.000 Teilnehmer an Startup Weekends in mehr als 110 Ländern teil. Der Erfolg gibt der Initiative Recht: Mindestens 600 Startup Unternehmen wurden als direkte Folge der Startup Weekends gegründet.

These developments have created a momentum that should be used to further advance the German BioTech sector. Now especially political action is required to utilize these chances - not only tax measures for investors, but also and especially a discussion about the connection of innovation and capital and the willingness to take the risk required to ensure the German competitiveness in the future.

What happens at the 'Gründerwerkstatt'?
In alternating interactive and creative phases you will test your socio-entrepreneurial ideas and develop them further.
In the evening the results of the day will be publicly pitched in the 'Alte Feuwerwache' in Mannheim.

From April 29th, 2015 BioRN will hold their annual "Biotech Entrepreneurship Tranining Program" in cooperation with the university of Heidelberg. During this seminar the participants will learn to generate a business idea from a scientific paper and present it in a convincing way.

In a series of lectures the students will be introduced into the fundamentals of founding and business planning. These "Biotech Entrepreneurship and Leadership Lectures" lectures will be held by experienced founders and managers from April 20th, 2015 onwards as per following schedule:
