The Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis has been awarded since 2005 and is an important part of the start-up activities of the Mannheim business development.

The aim is to distinguish the "calculated courage" of these foundations as well as to award a seal of approval for the further growth of the start-up, but also to be a role model for people, also to make themselves independent in Mannheim. The award winner is determined by an independent jury.

Award:

• The first winner of each category will receive a prize of 10,000 euros and a prize sculpture.
• The award ceremony will take place on 21 November 2018 within the Mannheim Economic Forum. The organization reserves the right to change the dates.
• All participants in the final round will be invited to attend the Mannheim Economic Forum.

CSR activities in Baden-Württemberg are awarded!

SME Award for Social Responsibility in Baden-Württemberg, Performance - Commitment - Recognition 2018 (Lea SME Award)

Social commitment pays off and the companies in Baden-Württemberg have known this for a long time. Together with cooperation partners from the third sector they face concrete social challenges. With diverse, innovative "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR) activities, they work to solve societal problems and thus form an essential cornerstone for an open, stable and solidary society. At the same time, you ensure your own future viability. As part of the Lea-Mittelstandspreis, exemplary CSR activities will again be honored with the Lea trophy in 2018 and the companies will be thanked for their commitment.

From now on, all Baden-Württemberg based companies with a maximum of 500 full-time employees can apply, who work in cooperation with an organization from the Third Sector, eg. a carity, an association or an environmental initiative and have jointly realized a project to tackle societal challenges. New Mobility Meets Entrepreneurship - with a Mobility Grant, the Ministry of Transport supports innovators in shaping the mobility of tomorrow.

Digital solutions for the mobility of tomorrow must leave the beaten path. The ideas behind it need creative freedom to reach application maturity. The new scholarship is intended to create this freedom. The program is part of the think tank digital mobility and is aimed at developers, researchers, students, entrepreneurs and all other actors who want to change mobility with new ideas and are not afraid of taking their own steps into the market. What is needed are concepts that use digital technologies. Application deadline for the scholarship is May 15, 2018, 12pm.

Start2grow is a competition which helps german founders to implement their business idea. On Monday November 16 , the Mannheimer Existenxgründungspreis (MEXI) 2016 has been awarded. MEXI awards the most innovative and successful Mannheim ventures in three categories: Technology, Creativity and Service. 

The winners in 2015 that will carry the MEXI 2016 award are: 

1. OPAL - Operational Analytics GmbH (Technology)
2. Carrus Cultus GmbH (or HERRENFAHRT Creativity)
3. CONIAS Risk Intelligence GmbH (Service)

We congratulate all the winners and participants to their achievements and are especially proud that MCEI startup OPAL (our SOTM January) recieved one of the distinguished awards. OPAL has been supported by the MCEI with dedicated startup consulting, their succesful application for the EXIST program and started in the MCEI Accelerator Office Space free of charge. Another important part of our MCEI support was a comprehensive Inside the Venture consulting project in cooperation with INTEGRA that helped OPAL to further develop their business model. 

The prize money of 10.000 EUR will grant OPAL the opportunity to further develop their product and business operations. Being the third award in 2015 alone (after the IKT Innovativ Founder Prize at CeBit and the HANA Innovation Awards) OPAL has proven its high potential and convincing business idea.

The most recent guest at our Founder Talk series, Ampido, has just received the first prize in the category Internet Startup at the eco awards.

On 25 June eco – Association of the Internet Industry e. V. presented the eco Internet Awards, for the 15th year in a row. This time, the jury honored innovative companies in seven main categories, four of which had subcategories. In addition to these, the Special Prize from the State of NRW for the Digital Economy, and the EuroCloud award were presented. More than 400 guests from the Internet industry came together for the exclusive eco Gala in Cologne, to be inspired by the ideas and to celebrate the winners accordingly.

“At the 15th awards ceremony we have again been impressed at the innovativeness and creativity of all the applicants. Our industry is taking a leading role for the entire economy,” said eco CEO Harald A. Summa. The Gala was also the starting point for eco’s birthday celebrations: The association was founded on 26 June 1995 and is now celebrating its 20th birthday. Co-founder Summa was honored during the Gala for his many years of service to the Internet.

For the last 15 years, the largest Internet association in Europe has been honoring especially innovative companies, whose market-ready products, services or processes make use of the Internet as their basis or as an intelligent supplement. The coverage and the kinds of category change slightly from year to year – as does the spectrum of the Internet itself. This year, eco adapted the awards categories to its new set of topics, and presented for the first time, for example, an award in the area of New Work. “The Internet is fundamentally changing more and more areas of our life. It is becoming a matter of course, like water and electricity. This is not only reflected in the categories of the eco Awards, but also in the variety of companies that applied, and the enormous range of future-oriented ideas in the around 130 applications received,” said Summa, delighted.
