How to finance by Qsummit

The stage, a startup is in, is crucial for the decision on the right typ of investor. Marc Klusch and Christian Derosa are from PwC and so have broad experience in consulting business on finance and investment.

They will give you useful insights from how to form the right pitch deck to a realistic business valuation. Furthermore, they will highlight key points and explain in detail how to find and approach investors.

MEXI 2019 - Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis

Application deadline is 31 August 2018!

 

The Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis has been awarded since 2005 and is an important part of the start-up activities of the Mannheim business development.

The aim is to distinguish the "calculated courage" of these foundations as well as to award a seal of approval for the further growth of the start-up, but also to be a role model for people, also to make themselves independent in Mannheim. The award winner is determined by an independent jury.

You can send your application now! The Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis 2019 is a prize for successful start-ups in the categories of technology, services and the digital economy. The category technology is sponsored by Roche, the category services by Sparkasse Rhein Neckar Nord.

 

Award:

  • The first winner of each category will receive a prize of 10,000 euros and a prize sculpture.
  • The award ceremony will take place on 21 November 2018 within the Mannheim Economic Forum. The organization reserves the right to change the dates.
  • All participants in the final round will be invited to attend the Mannheim Economic Forum.

This INTEGRA Inside the Venture project was conducted by Nadja Braun, Philipp Sternal, Christian Schoupal, Florian Steffens, and Stephan Sattler. The objective of the consulting project was to evaluate current growth measures and figures and develop a full-fledged expansion strategy for zingoo in Germany. zingoo offers customers the opportunity to purchase vouchers of small local businesses online.

In particular, the project included:

  • a profound market analysis including a dedicated competitor analysis
  • analyzing targeted customer segments and partners by socio-economic measures
  • identifying and ranking potential locations
  • developing an expansion roadmap
  • delivering an expansion process that is replicable for all future locations
  • ensuring operationalizability of the results

The project was conducted in Fall Term 2015.

Developing a Marketing Strategy for Mister Trip

The objective of this INTEGRA consulting project Inside the Venture that Karin Weitkaempfer, Dennis Wagner, Florentine Eitelbach, Johann Maack and Robin Ruhnau have conducted was to evaluate the current marketing measures (status quo) and to develop a full-fledged marketing strategy for Mister Trip in Germany.

In particular, the project included:

  • profound market analyses including a dedicated competitor analysis
  • analyzing targeted customer segments and prioritization
  • validating the current corporate strategy
  • evaluating current marketing measures
  • deriving a marketing strategy as well as a list of measures to be implemented
  • preparation of dedicated marketing measures that qualify for short-term implementation

The project was conducted in Fall Term 2015.

Conducting a market analysis for CloudRail

The objective of the consulting project was to identify the most relevant target markets for the product CloudRail by licobo GmbH and an analysis of their relevant characteristics. The individual steps of the project can be segmented into a customer segmentation research for the product, an analysis of the market for Cloud Computing and an analysis of the “Internet of Things” market. The INTEGRA Inside the Venture team consisted of Marlene Laumer, Johann Abrahams, Daniel Schaeffer, Patrick Hemling and Fabian Burzlaff.

In particular, the project included:

  • Identification of the most relevant target markets for CloudRail
  • Researching key data of these markets and the most important potential customers
  • Researching general information about the Cloud Computing market and identifying its market segments
  • Evaluating these market segments concerning a potential introduction of CloudRail (regarding competition, number and type of potential customers, technological development potential)
  • Researching general information about the “Internet of Things” market and identifying its market segments
  • Identifying and evaluating trends in the “Internet of Things” market concerning their temporal development, their market impact and their potential for a usage in connection with CloudRail
  • Describing the results of the market analyses using a presentation with specifically developed graphics
  • Conducing a workshop with the managing directors of licobo GmbH to identify the market segments and customers that should be targeted at the commercial launch of CloudRail

The project was conducted in Spring Term 2014.

Sales & Pricing @freachly

Freachly was founded by a group of students from Mannheim, Paris and Milan with the goal of connecting small retail businesses, hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs with social-media influencers. Operations have launched in May and the app is available for iOS devices on the Appstore. The startup is currently on its way to scale up and the goals of the student Inside the Venture project comprised to:

  • analyze what types of influencers they are, how they operate and whom to target how 
  • challenge the feasibility of freachly's business model and conducting sensitivity analyses
  • provide further recommendations on the influencer selection process 
  • provide feedback on the current sales processes and a vision of improvements to the sales process 
  • develop the pricing model scenarios paierd with sensitivity analyses

Internationalization @Mister Trip

The German travel industry continued to perform well in 2016, which in turn created stronger demand for virtually all travel-related products and services. This greatly motivates Mister Trip to grow its business as a startup and possibly even enter new markets while scaling up.

Mister Trip is the leading German online marketplace for tailor-made travel. More than 50 local travel agencies and experts in the destinations create personalized and authentic trips based on the customers’ requirements. Travelers benefit from their unique know-how, cheap direct prices and a secure booking/payment process via Mister Trip´s platform.

The MAN 633 Inside the Venture team helped Mister Trip to define a clear and systematic approach to find and choose new incoming agencies to work with. Additionally, the team consisting of Danilo La Farciola, Abdulrahman Bres, Massimo Zanesco and Kai Bruchmüller also supported the growth of  Mister Trip's portfolio by designing a strategy for prioritizing and entering new markets. Eventually, the team crafted a recommendation according to the developed tailored decision support system.

In their MAN 633 Inside the Venture project, Duc Manh Nguyen, Indhira Mehalingam and Oriane Bruxelle have supported the Mannheim Startup PulseShift

 

PulseShift is a highly innovative start-up proving solutions which assist the management tier of any organization in gauging the employee involvement in the implementation of any change in the organization. And this service is backed by a highly efficient technical support, which helps in dynamically generating reports and KPIs, which will assist the change management people to make effective and timely decisions. And they promise this by getting the employee feedback on the implemented change on a regular basis in form of surveys that helps the management to have a continuous stream of feedback from their employees during the whole transformation processes. The student team challenged PulseShift's business model, ran competitor analyses and developed a strategic pricing framework for PulseShift
