The Junge Innovatoren program helps young scientific staff from universities and other research institutes in becoming independent producers and distributors of innovative products or processes. The program is designed to create an alternative to dependent employment while at the same time encouraging the transfer of technology and know-how from universities to industry. Future-oriented fields such as optoelectronics, biotechnology, medical technology, solar technology, automation technology and mechatronics are the main focus.

The Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis has been awarded since 2005 and is an important part of the start-up activities of the Mannheim business development.

The aim is to distinguish the "calculated courage" of these foundations as well as to award a seal of approval for the further growth of the start-up, but also to be a role model for people, also to make themselves independent in Mannheim. The award winner is determined by an independent jury.

You can send your application now! The Mannheimer Existenzgründungspreis 2018 is a prize for successful start-ups in the categories of technology, services and the digital economy. The category technology is sponsored by Roche, the category services by Sparkasse Rhein Neckar Nord and the category Digital Economy by CEMA AG.

Award:

• The first winner of each category will receive a prize of 10,000 euros and a prize sculpture.
• The award ceremony will take place on 22 November 2017 within the Mannheim Economic Forum. The organization reserves the right to change the dates.
• All participants in the final round will be invited to attend the Mannheim Economic Forum.

The World University Service (WUS) German Committee wants to recognize students and graduates at German universities who have worked in their degree programs - regardless of their subject area - on one of the following topics of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

• Migration
• Flight
• Human right for education
• Global Learning
• Education for Sustainable Development

Diploma, master, bachelor and state examinations can be submitted as final studies. The work has to have been completed and evaluated in the calendar year 2016. The complete application - only in electronic form - must be submitted by 30 June 2017.

The prizemoney is € 1,500. It can also be shared. An independent jury decides on the award.
