Optimizing HR @Fluffy Fairy Games

The INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting team was deployed for improving the company´s HR ressources. That meant the evaluation of the recruitment process and the current employee stock. To provide a new recruitment strategy they started to develop methods for improving the current recruiting process. That was further enriched by applying different tools for a fitting individual solution. As a result they could offer a comparison with potential solutions for the application and internal evaluation procedure of the companies employees.

Kolibri Games GmbH is a mobile games company based in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 2016 by Daniel Stammler, Janosch Sadowski, Tim Reiter, Oliver Löffler and Sebastian Karasek as Fluffy Fairy Games. The company develops idle games for mobile devices and gained international recognition with their game Idle Miner Tycoon that has been downloaded over 100 million times. Ubisoft acquired a 75% majority share of Kolibri Games in February 2020 with a company valuation of €160 Million.

The core task of this INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project was the development of a marketing and sales strategy for the company. Therefore, a first step was to analyse the status quo. In doing so they created a basis to deduce relevant and fitting measures to be taken. As a comparison the team also assembled best practices and current trends. Finally, the work was completed by rolling out an implementation strategy.

MIRABESQUE is a fashion store for high-quality dance clothing and dance accessories. In addition to dancers, dance schools and dance teachers, MIRABESQUE also supports television productions, amusement parks, theaters and operas with their diverse product range. The goal of MIRABESQUE is to make it as easy as possible for all dancers to obtain dance supplies. MIRABESQUE GmbH was founded in May 2018 by Victoria Seibert and Jürgen Dorner as a start-up and has already established itself as a well-known brand in Germany.

Market and sales strategy @LBRM

The content of this INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project was developing a market strategy for LBRM. The work on the marketing strategy included an identification of potential target groups and research on relevant competitors. Another aspect of the team´s work was setting up a strategy for sales as well as a communication strategy.

LBRM develops software for the improved representation and hedging of company risks. In addition, feedback cycles are greatly shortened by an interactive real-time risk evaluation. The basis of the product is the modelling of each individual position using a new algebraic approach. This makes it possible to aggregate risk models of individual positions at portfolio level in order to visualize network effects. The team of founders, consisting of Dirk Schulte, Dr. Christian Hoffmann and the HPI alumnus Dr. Jann Müller, has been supported since September 2017 by the "Exist" Founders Scholarship in cooperation with the University of Mannheim. LBRM GmbH was founded in December 2017.

Target group analysis @Covexo

The content of this INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project was setting up a target group analysis at Covexo and rolling out a future marketing strategy. Therefore, potential customers had to be analysed and categorized. As a further step, relevant marketing channels were identified and prioritized. Finally, the identified marketing channels were analysed in detail to conclude guidance for the company.

Covexo shifts the development of software from the local computer to the cloud. By providing an innovative synchronization technology, users of a covexo DevSpace can develop with their local desktop tools and still get all the benefits of the cloud, such as more computing resources and no installations and config issues on the local laptop. The locally written code is therefore transferred to the cloud in real-time, making a hot reload of the developed application in the cloud possible. For this, covexo DevSpaces heavily rely on the newest cloud technologies Docker and Kubernetes. covexo is providing its solution as an open source software and additionally offers a fully managed cloud development platform. covexo was founded in 2017 by three graduates of the University of Mannheim.

Implementing employer branding strategy @Getsafe

The content of this INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project was working on the implementation of an employer branding strategy at Getsafe. That included setting up detailed guidelines for a better presentation of the company. The MCEI team started by analysing the status quo. Then the self-presentation of competing companies was analysed. As a result, the team delivered several guidelines on how to implement the proposed measures.

Getsafe is an InsurTech startup from Heidelberg. With their app they combine assurance business and technology. The result is a more approachable access to the right assurances. That might be why Getsafe is one of most chosen assurance brands among Millennials. Getsafe was founded in 2013. Alex Grimm (COO) and Daniel Treiber (CFO) studied at the University of Mannheim. Many interns are University of Mannheim students. Getsafe has take part to the Career Fair multiple times and to the QSummit. Co-founder Christian Wiens and Getsafe had been active at the Founder Talk.

Growth strategy development @Freachly

In an exciting and extremely instructive INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project the five-member project team was able to focus on the development of growth strategies for Freachly. The project was performed from September 2017 to January 2018. The consultation aimed at identifying possible growth potential for Freachly and developing suitable growth strategies for the company on this basis. The team identified strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks by reviewing and evaluating internal documents and conducting detailed research on the market environment and Freachly's competitors. This was then used to find growth potential that would take advantage of these strengths and opportunities and reduce the weaknesses and risks. The most promising potential was then, after consultation with Freachly, further elaborated by the team and further substantiated by best practices and innovative business models.

Freachly helps local businesses to target the right audience to increase awareness, gain new customers, and give a professional touch to their online image, working with nano–influencers. In many cases these influencers tend to have a rather local focus, which makes them the perfect cooperation partner for local marketing. Freachly also offers managing all social media accounts and giving it a professional touch, so that new customers in a certain target area can be attracted.

Marketing strategy development @100 Worte

The content of this INTEGRA Inside the Venture consulting project was developing a market strategy for 100 Worte. That included an analysis of all potential marketing channels. Also communication strategies were part of their work. That meant building up a presentation of the company and rolling out a map for the next relevant communication steps. The core marketing strategy included an identification of potential target groups, research on the closest competitors and a conclusion on relevant best-practices.

100 Worte is a startup that was founded in 2017 in Heilbronn. Their product uses AI to analyse personalities. On the basis of the latest socio-psychological research in combination with AI methods, they are able to sum up a personality impression from the person interacting with the interface. Based on their words, 100W gives insights into people's personalities, relationships, feelings, ways of thinking and needs. The tool is used in areas of customer support, marketing, and HR - but the possibilities are vast.

Client acquisition @Pacific Straws

As part of the MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit Maurice Remmers and Moreno Zugaro joined Pacific straws in spring semester 2019. Their task was to roll out a strategy to grow the amount of business clients for Pacific Straws. The task had a geographical impact as former clients of the company were mainly concentrated in the south west of Germany while the board intended to expand to all of Germany. So they created a list of potential customers and worked out how to approach them.

Pacific Straws is a startup that is addressing environmental issues. They offer high–quality straws of glass that can be re–used. With this product they offer another puzzle piece to a zero waste lifestyle. Also they offer another opportunity to avoid plastic and so help reduce plastic pollution.

Customer validation @Mein Zaubertrank

As part of the MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit Özyurt Seyma, Shabanova Sakina, Tsoupaki Eirini and Zhang Congying teamed up for joining Mein Zaubertrank in spring semester 2019. In order to verify the feasibility of the concept, the team members conducted customer surveys, competitor analysis, and defined the core product value proposition and business model. Through the supplier analysis, the possible long-term partners were established. On this basis, an overall financial plan for running business was set up. A major part of their work was devoted to the customer validation process. Moreover, with the goal to understand product varieties, its attribute and characteristics currently available for the target segment, a competitive analysis was started. As a third step, customer surveys were performed and the survey ́s results were afterwards analysed.

Mein Zaubertrank is addressing the trend for healthy lifestyles and protein powders. The core part of the idea is to offer protein products with customised flavours. Mein Zaubertrank intends to fill this gap in the protein nutrition market.

Market advice @Treye Tech

As part of the MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit Evialina Yakimovich and Allwyn Menezes joined Treye Tech in spring semester 2019. Their task was to develop use cases for the categories “Automobile”, “Smartphone”, and “Point of Sale”; to filter down the most promising use cases from each industry; consult Treye Tech on which market to enter and why; and finally, develop a market entry and pricing strategy for the most promising use case(s). As a result of their work as part of the team and business pitches for the final three use cases we selected, those being “Patients in Hospitals”, “Point of Sale: Displays”, and “Medical Professionals”.

Treye Tech is meant to easy the application of mobile devices by eye movement and to open the door to a post touch era. In 2016 the startup was awarded with Be.Projekt Award. Treye Tech was founded by Anton Wachner, a Uni Mannheim employee and Alumni.
