Crowdfunding campaign @Mirabesque

MAN 633 Inside the Venture project (Spring 2018) of Louisa Gropengießer-Arlt aimed to support the Mannheim-based Startup Mirabesque.

Mirabesque is an online shop for high quality and unique dancewear, costumes and dance accessories. With great knowledge of their target group, the team creates value for their customers by facilitating the shopping process of dancewear. With their thought-out business model Mirabesque was able to convince the jury of the MCEI Seed Award 2018 and was the winning team in 2018.

Louisa´s project supported Mirabesque with a strategy and outline for a crowdfunding campaign. The campaign aims to support Mirabesque´s first own dancewear collection.

After winning the MCEI Seed Award in February MIRABESQUE incorporated as a GmbH in May and is now located in GIG7 – one of the Startup Mannheim founding centers. They created a whole new online store (www.mirabesque.de) and have broadened their portfolio intensely to all relevant dance styles. In cooperation with the MCEI course MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit MIRABESQUE has also created its first image video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pf67HxWLflg

The Problem we’re solving:

Dancing is passion. The sourcing of dance supplies is, however, a pure pain. All over the world, dancers of all styles share the same problem: Beautiful, extraordinary and high- quality costumes and accessories are very expensive and only available in a very complicated way. For years, the market has been divided into two segments: The low- price segment, with mass production, poor quality and standard sizes, and the high-end segment, where dancers order costumes and accessories at high prices and with a lot of effort at the tailor.

How we digitalize the Dancewear Market:

With Mirabesque, we are focusing on the not yet occupied medium-price segment and on the optimization of the high-end segment and base our strategy on three pillars:

Our first column consists of bundling the collections of the most diverse designers from all over the world in our onlineshop - categorized according to the dance style. As a result, we save dancers from costly searching and complicated ordering.

Our second column consists of the creation of our own designs, which convince with a fair price-performance ratio.

Our third pillar is an innovative online configurator. In this case, the dancer can make his or her desired design easily and precisely from a variety of building blocks, produced by our hand-picked partners abroad. Our clients are dancers of all styles (Bollywood, Ballroom & Latin, Oriental Dance, Hawaiian Hula, Flamenco, Burlesque, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, ...).

Hand-picked products, a professional online shop, individual and custom-made costumes via an online configurator and a brand that lives dance with all its heart are the ingredients for the successful digitalization of the dance industry.
