Product Development @DECORAMI

During their MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit course in fall semester 2021 Ayten Mahmud and Florentin Lamarcq joined Decorami for their Inside the Venture Project.

The mission that DECORAMI was proposing for this project, was to further develop their own product lines, called DECORAMI Green and DECORAMI Exclusive. So the team had to come up with new ideas for products or variations of products to enhance DECORAMI’s offering in the world of party decoration and accessories. Since DECORAMI was an already established start-up, the core moves were to do a deep dive into the world of DECORAMI to fully understand what they stand for, what kind of products they offer, how they are present on social media and most importantly. As a result of the project several new products were presented.

To massively reduce plastic for the sector of party and entertainment decorations, DECORAMI has launched in 2017 to promote product lines which rely as little as possible on the usage of plastic and encourage reusability in many decorative products. For this purpose, DECORAMI launched their DECORAMI Green and DECORAMI Exclusive lines in 2019, which heavily focus on sustainability and reusability.

Software and hardware development @Yab

During the fall semester, the student team consisting of Heiko Trötsch and Sebastian Alpers was assigned to work together with the yab GmbH as part of the MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit course. Their mission was to come up with a financial model and a hardware beacon. The financial modell was meant to serve as a proof of concept calculation that illustrates the potential effects of dynamically priced deals for partners of yab.

Yab is a start-up that promises to bring together flexible and more price-sensitive customers with gastronomy locations and other places of city life. Their product is an application that serves as a marketplace for dynamic deals for their two customer groups –locations and customers– and offers the following unique value proposition to both: With the concept of dynamic deals, locations can directly attract customers during slow business times through varying discounts over the day. The discounts allow the restaurant to balance its revenue streams over the day and to increase profits. The customers on the other side get access to interesting and appealing offers with yab. They can save money and discover new locations in their city if they bring a little flexibility to benefit from the dynamic discounts on their experiences.

Strategy Implementation @LeadNow

As part of the MAN 633 Entrepreneurial Spirit course in fall 2021 Lydia Baum and Paul Gehring joined LeadNow. Their main task was to implement a functioning strategy to enable the young startup to perform better in terms of KPIs. Given this background, they focussed on customer aquisition and customer relationship management. Regarding customers they pivotted the business modell a bit in targeting larger companies without functioning Instagram campaigns. Also they raised brand awareness in pointing out more explicitely how the company delivers high quality campaigning.

LeadNow is an influencer marketing company. They developped an app to enable an automated contact between interested companies and influencers. Pretty unique about LeadNow are the high standards regarding customer and influencer aquisition. The company entirely sticks to the regulatory and competition law framework and refuses to use data crawling.
